BJP leader RP Singh's statement is extremely irresponsible and irrational

Resolution passed by SGPC is in favor of unity and integrity of country: SGPC additional secretary Sukhdev Singh Bhurakohna Amritsar, April 2: Following the passage of resolution against the Rashtriya Swayamsewak Sangh (RSS) during the recent budget session of the Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee (SGPC), Sri Amritsar, the statement made by Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leaders RP Singh in the newspapers is proof of extreme irresponsibility and misunderstanding. In a press statement issued by the SGPC, additional secretary S. Sukhdev Singh Bhurakohna said, “Being a Sikh, RP Singh should know that Sikh religion is the upholder of universal communion. Sikh religion considers all human beings to be the children of one Akal Purakh and embraces all by bridging the gap between high-low, caste, rich and poor in the country and society.” S. Sukhdev Singh said, “If RP Singh has not read history, he must do it once. When Aurangzeb was making India Dar-ul-Islam (Land of Islam), Hindu religion was in danger then Guru Tegh Bahadur Sahib Ji went to Delhi and gave his sacrifice to protect Tilak Janju and freedom of religion after hearing the request of Kashmiri Pandits. Today, in the rule of the BJP and RSS, even in the state of Uttar Pradesh, the minority religions are feeling threatened as these post-independence rulers are following the footsteps of Aurangzeb. The only difference is that he wanted to make India an Islamic country and these powers want to make it a Hindu Rashtra. They cannot tolerate the religion, culture, language, etc. of others.” S. Bhurakohna said that the Sikh history, principles and doctrines of Sikhi were being secretly tampered with by the RSS. S Sukhdev Singh Bhurakohna said, “RP Singh should realize that today when the entire Sikh world is celebrating the 400th birth anniversary of Guru Tegh Bahadur Sahib, on such occasion, the resolution passed by the SGPC against RSS is in the interest of the country and the constitution of India. The resolution is in favor of the unity and integrity of the country. Everyone in the country has the right to freedom of religion and to practice their religion.” S Bhurakohna said that the SGPC represents the sentiments of the Sikh faith and this resolution is the common voice of the entire Sikh community. “Whenever anyone would try to disrupt the unity and integrity of the country with the doctrine of a single religious nation and create a threat to the minority religions, the SGPC while walking on the paths shown by the Gurus, would continue to pass resolutions against such ideologies”, said S. Sukhdev Singh Bhurakohna.
