Amritsar district administrative officials hold meeting with SGPC president Bibi Jagir Kaur

Sangat should follow instructions of health department appeals Bibi Jagir Kaur Amritsar, April 2: With regards to the Covid-19 pandemic, the administrative officials of Ambala district including deputy commissioner (DC) Gurpreet Singh Khaira, inspector general of police (IGP) Sukhchain Singh Gill, sub-divisional magistrate Vikas Hira and of the Municipal Corporation on Friday held a meeting with the Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee (SGPC) president Bibi Jagir Kaur at the SGPC office. Bibi Jagir Kaur said that due to the increasing cases of corona, everyone needs to be careful. “The sangat (pilgrims) paying obeisance at Sachkhand Sri Harmandar Sahib should follow the instructions given by the health department. The pilgrims should wear masks, use sanitizers, take care of cleanliness and keep a distance between them to prevent the spread of the disease”, said Bibi Jagir Kaur. SGPC president also asked the administration officials to pay special attention to the cleanliness of the roads leading to Sachkhand Sri Harmandar Sahib and its surroundings. Amritsar DC Gurpreet Singh Khaira apprised the SGPC president and officials about the arrangements being made by the district administration to contain the spread of Covid-19. Meanwhile, DC Gurpreet Singh Khaira, IGP Sukhchain Singh Gill and others were honoyred by SGPC president Guru’s blessing Siropao (robe of honour) and a model of Sachkhand Sri Harmandar Sahib. During the meeting, SGPC member Bhai Ram Singh, additional secretary S. Sukhdev Singh Bhurakohna, deputy secretary Kulwinder Singh Ramdas, manager of Sri Darbar Sahib S. Gurinder Singh Mathrewal, superintendent Malkit Singh Beharwal, OSD Dr Sukhbir Singh and others were present.
