Amritsar, April 6:
The Nagar Kirtan started from Gurdwara Guru Ke Mahal Sri Amritsar, dedicated to the 400th birth anniversary of Guru Tegh Bahadur Sahib, started its journey from Gurudwara Nim Sahib Patshahi Nauvin, Kaithal, Haryana for the next phase to Gurdwara Dhamtan Sahib.
On the departure of Nagar Kirtan, SGPC executive committee member S. Harbhajan Singh Masanan, Haryana state Shiromani Akal Dal president leader Sharanjit Singh Sotha, general secretary Sukhbir Singh Madi, additional secretary Paramjit Singh Saroa, Baba Gopal Singh Kar Sewa, manager S. Bhupinder Singh and other leaders honoured Panj Pyare with Siropaos (robe of honours) along with Nishanchi Singhs.
Earlier religious programme was organised at Gurdwara Sahib, in which ragi jathas connected the sangat with Gurbani kirtan.
During the departure of Nagar Kirtan, the sangat paid homage to Sri Guru Granth Sahib Ji by showering flowers. At various places along the way, the sangat gave a hearty welcome to the Nagar Kirtan and paid homage to Guru Sahib. The sangat also set up langar at various places.
On the occasion, assistant secretary of Dharam Prachar Committee S. Sukhbir Singh, Haryana Sikh Mission in-charge Mangpreet Singh, S. Paramjit Singh, S. Sukhbir Singh, S. Jasbir Singh Jassi assistant in-charge, supervisor Karnail Singh, S. Tehal Singh Kahlon, S. Gurpreet Singh Mand and others were present.
