With regards to the celebration of the 400th Prakash Purab of Sri Guru Tegh Bahadur Ji, the ninth Guru, a meeting has been held today between Amritsar mayor S. Karamjit Singh Rintu, commissioner Komal Mittal, ACP traffic Jaswant Kaur, officials of the Municipal Corporation (MC) and SGPC chief secretary Adv Harjinder Singh and other officials at SGPC office.
During the meeting Adv Harjinder Singh appealed for traffic and other necessary arrangements keeping in view of the arrival of sangat during the centenary celebrations.
SGPC chief secretary Harjinder Singh said that lighting should be done on the government buildings in the city of Amritsar on the occasion of the 400th birth anniversary of the ninth Guru. He also asked to pay special attention to the cleanliness of the roads leading to Gurdwara Guru Ke Mahal, the birthplace of the ninth Guru.
Amritsar mayor S. Karamjit Singh Rintu said that we are fortunate to have the opportunity to serve during the centenary celebrations. He said that he would render all the services rendered by the SGPC wholeheartedly. Mayor Rintu assured the SGPC officials that they would depute the duties of corporation officials to keep the city clean and tidy. He said that lighting would be done on all the buildings of the corporation during the centenary celebrations.
Meanwhile, the SGPC officials honoured S. Karamjit Singh Rintu, commissioner Komal Mittal, ACP Jaswant Kaur.
In the meeting, SGPC additional secretary S. Sukhdev Singh Bhurakohna, S. Partap Singh, assistant secretary Kulwinder Singh Ramdas, Sri Darbar Sahib manager S. Gurinder Singh Mathrewal, OSD to SGPC president Dr Amrik Singh Latifpur, SGPC superintendent Malkit Singh Beharwal, S. Major Singh, SDO Amritsar MC S. Rajinder Singh, supervising engineer Anurag Mahajan and others were present.
