Amritsar, April 10:
The Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee (SGPC) organized a two-day camp at its office in Amritsar to conduct Covid-19 test of the pilgrims going to Pakistan on the occasion of Khalsa Sajna Diwas (Baisakhi).
During the camp conducted under the direction of SGPC president Bibi Jagir Kaur, the samples of 234 pilgrims have been collected at this two-day camp.
In a press statement, SGPC chief secretary Adv Harjinder Singh said that Covid-19 test must be done 72 hours before going to another country. Accordingly, a two-day camp was organized in collaboration with the health department.
He said that a total of 99 pilgrims gave their samples for Covid-19 test on the first day and another 135 pilgrims on the second day.
He also appealed to the rest of the pilgrims going to Pakistan on the occasion of Khalsa Sajna Diwas (Baisakhi) to get their Covid-19 test done so that there would be no difficulty in joining the jatha.
