SGPC president Bibi Jagir Kaur said that the services of 24 companies are being taken to conduct financial audits in a transparent manner of the functioning of the Gurdwaras and educational institutions managed by the SGPC.
Bibi Jagir Kaur said, “These CA firms would be working at the district-level to conduct internal audits of Gurdwaras and educational institutions. At present these services are being availed for the financial year of 2021-22 for which about Rs 49 lakh would be paid annually. Every firm would have to submit its report by the 10th day of the month at the headquarters of the SGPC.”
Bibi Jagir Kaur said, “For the sake of financial transparency, the organization should be run by an expert CA, for which the sub-committee has selected the CA firms through regular interviews. Every firm would work under the rules regularly promulgated by the SGPC. In addition to the audit, the staff of educational institutions and Gurdwaras will also be given training on double entry and computerization by these firms.”
She said, “In case, if the audit firm, finds any work done anywhere beyond the permissible rights, then it would be necessary to bring the same to the notice of the SGPC headquarters and the CA firms would also send it in a special report in their monthly report”, said Bibi Jagir Kaur.
SGPC president said that our objective is to present the Gurdwara arrangements to the sangat in a transparent manner.
Meanwhile, Bibi Jagir Kaur strongly condemned the threatening letter regarding Takht Sri Patna Sahib and said that some anti-social people were not tolerating the benevolent services of Gurdwaras and from time to time such heinous acts were carried out with hatred. She said that the governments should deal strictly with such people and their faces should be exposed.
