Lays foundation stone of new block of Gynaecology and Pediatric ward at Sri Guru Ramdas Medical College

The foundation stone of the new block of Gynaecology and Pediatric ward at Sri Guru Ramdas Institute of Medical Sciences and Research, Valla under the management of Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee (SGPC) was laid on Friday by SGPC president Bibi Jagir Kaur.
Speaking on the occasion Bibi Jagir Kaur said that while the SGPC is working in the field of management of Gurdwaras and education, health services are also being provided for the welfare of humanity.
“Sri Guru Ramdas Institute of Medical Sciences and Research is one of the leading institutes in the country under the management of the SGPC and the Sikh body is constantly working for its expansion as per the requirement. Under this a new block of Gynaecology and Pediatric ward is being established. This ward would cost about Rs 4 crore and treatment with better facilities would be provided here”, said Bibi Jagir Kaur.
She said the three-storey ward will have seven lecture halls, rehabilitation department, treatment room, doctors' rooms, 10-bed intensive care unit (ICU), 12 private rooms, two wards and two laboratories.
She said that Sri Guru Ramdas Hospital always works to help the needy.
“The patients’ deliveries are done free along with cheap tests and low cost. The main objective of the Sikh body is human welfare. Guru Ramdas Medical Institute had provided various services to the people during the COVID-19 pandemic in the past. Free Covid-19 vaccination drive is ongoing, with camps being set up at Sri Guru Ramdas Hospital as well as at various Gurdwaras. At the same time patients were treated by opening Covid Care Centres”, said Bibi Jagir Kaur.
SGPC president said that the SGPC is committed to human welfare through its health institutions and it will continue to provide the services in the future as well.
