Bibi Jagir Kaur calls meeting to draw programmes of 400th birth anniversary of Guru Tegh Bahadur

Amritsar, March 3: Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee (SGPC) president Bibi Jagir Kaur has called a meeting with the members of SGPC to hold necessary discussions to commemorate the 400th birth anniversary of Guru Tegh Bahadur Sahib. In a press statement issued from the office SGPC, Bibi Jagir Kaur said that the meeting to discuss organising centenary programmes of the members of Majha and Doaba regions would be held on March 11, 2021 at 11:00 am in the meeting hall of the office of the SGPC. Similarly a meeting of members of Malwa region is called on March 13 at 11:00 am at Gurdwara Sri Dukhniwaran Sahib, Patiala. Bibi Jagir Kaur said that in order to commemorate the 400th birth anniversary of Guru Tegh Bahadur Sahib with Khalsa traditions and awe-inspiring appearance, the SGPC will discuss the events to be held at various places in these meetings. SGPC president Bibi Jagir Kaur said the districts included in Majha and Doaba regions are Amritsar, Tarn Taran, Gurdaspur, Pathankot, Kapurthala, Hoshiarpur, Nawanshahr and Jalandhar. Similarly, the districts involved in Malwa region include Patiala, Ludhiana, Sri Fatehgarh Sahib, Ferozepur, Faridkot, Sri Muktsar Sahib, Bathinda, Moga, Sangrur, Mansa, Ropar, Barnala, Fazilka, Sahibzada Ajit Singh Nagar. She said that ideas would be sought from the members to commemorate the centenary celebrations. Bibi Jagir Kaur said that the main function of the SGPC on the occasion of the fourth birth anniversary centenary of the ninth master Guru Tegh Bahadur Sahib would be held at Amritsar on May 1, 2021. Moreover, Path Bodh Samagam (Gurbani Recitation Knowledge Programmes) are being conducted by SGPC at various Gurdwaras dedicated to the 400th birth anniversary, and Gurmat Samagam are being conducted on the occasion of completion.
