Bhog of 5,000 Sehaj Paths on first day, completion of Gurbani Paath Bodh Samagam Mata Gujri Ji Istri Gurmat Sammelan tomorrow, main event on 18th March Baba Bakala Sahib/Amritsar, March 16: As part of the series of programmes initiated by the Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee (SGPC) dedicated to the 400th birth anniversary of the ninth Sikh master, Guru Tegh Bahadur Sahib, the three-day function at his historic shrine Gurdwara Sri Baba Bakala Sahib began on Tuesday, with the bhog (culmination) of 5,000 Sehaj Paths. These Sehaj Paths were performed by the sangat. Meanwhile, the Gurbani Path Bodh Samagam, which was going on for the past one month also concluded today. In this regard, during the a Gurmat Samagam (religious programme) organised in a large shed, the SGPC president Bibi Jagir Kaur, while congratulating the gathering that attended the Gurbani Path Bodh Samagam and recited the Sehaj Path, paid homage to the ninth Guru and inspired them to follow the Guru’s teachings. Bibi Jagir Kaur said that the objective of the SGPC to conduct Gurbani Path Bodh Samagam dedicated to the 400th birth anniversary of the ninth Guru is to motivate the sangat to do Sehaj Path to impart the correct pronunciation of Gurbani as well as to connect them to its views and ideology. Bibi Jagir Kaur said that the 400th birth anniversary of ninth Guru would be celebrated on May 1, 2021 with an international level function at Amritsar, before which various programmes are being organized across the country. She said a three-day function has been organized at Baba Bakala Sahib, the holy city of Guru Tegh Bahadur Ji. She informed that these functions will include Mata Gujri Ji Istri Gurmat Samagam on March 17 and the main function on March 18. Bibi Jagir Kaur said, “Guru Tegh Bahadur Sahib, the ninth Guru, had given his martyrdom for the protection of religion, which had changed the destiny and picture of the country as well as given a revolutionary message in the religious history of the world. Therefore, it is the duty of all of us to make efforts to spread the teachings of Guru Sahib from door to door.” Earlier, the hazuri raagi jathas of Sachkhand Sri Harmandir Sahib connected the sangat with Gurbani kirtan. During the function, SGPC president and general secretary adv Bhagwant Singh Sialka honored the people who received one month of Santhia (lessons) during the Gurbani Path Bodh Samagam with Siropas (robe of honour) and letters of appreciation. A large gathering attended the event on the first day. On this occasion, SGPC chief secretary S. Harjinder Singh Dhami, SGPC member S. Baljit Singh Jalalusma, Bhai Ram Singh, S. Kulwant Singh Mannan, members of Dharam Prachar Committee Bhai Ajaib Singh Abhayasi, Bhai Rajpal Singh, Bhai Dilbag Singh, additional secretary S. Partap Singh, assistant secretary S. Kulwinder Singh Ramdas, S. Harjit Singh Lalughuman, OSD Dr Sukhbir Singh, and other officials were present.
