Appeal Sangat to inspect electrical appliances from time to time

Amritsar, March 31:

Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee (SGPC) President Advocate Harjinder Singh Dhami has expressed grief over burning of five holy saroops (scriptures) of Sri Guru Granth Sahib due to electric short circuit at Gurdwara Ajitsar Sahib in Jagraon.

Advocate Dhami said that appeals have been made to the Sangat several times that the electrical appliances should be switched off in the absence of sewadars (attendants) but sadly the Gurdwara management committees do not pay attention to the same. He said the recent incident at Jagraon has also taken place due to an electric short circuit in the wires of a fan.

“It is the responsibility of the Gurdwara management committees to be serious in preventing such mishaps and to conduct inspection of the electrical appliances and wires inside Gurdwara Sahib from time to time”, said Advocate Dhami.

SGPC President said that the presence of a sewadar inside Gurdwara Sahib should be made mandatory for all the times so that such unfortunate incidents could be prevented and detected in time. He appealed to the Sangat to keep alerting the Gurdwara management committees time and again about keeping a check on the electrical appliances and wires.
