Amritsar, May 21:  Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee (SGPC) President Advocate S. Harjinder Singh expressed grief over the demise of SGPC’s senior member, prominent Akali leader, and former minister Jathedar Tota Singh and termed it a big Panthak loss.

S. Harjinder Singh said Jathedar Tota Singh was a leader dedicated to the Panth, who always sought the welfare of the Panth.

“Passing away of such Taksali Akali leader will be considered as a big vacuum, filling which is difficult”, said S. Harjinder Singh.

He said acting responsibly as an SGPC member, Jathedar Tota Singh always encouraged the Sikh organisation for its better performance through his invaluable suggestions. He also played a leading role in drawing up administrative plans on the occasion of the centenaries of the history of the Sikh faith.

SGPC president offered his tributes to Jathedar Tota Singh and expressed his condolences to his family and urged the young leadership of the Qaum to take guidance from his life and Panthak spirit.

Meanwhile, senior office-bearers of SGPC including senior vice-president S. Raghujit Singh, junior vice-president Principal Surinder Singh, and general secretary Jathedar Karnail Singh also expressed their grief over the demise of Jathedar Tota Singh and extended their heartfelt condolences to his family.
