Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee (SGPC) President Advocate S. Harjinder Singh has condemned the incident of beadbi (sacrilege) of Sri Guru Granth Sahib at the Gurdwara Sahib in Dharamkot village in Amritsar district and demanded in-depth investigation into this incident. He said this incident has once again given deep pain to the Sikh psyche.
SGPC President said although the police have registered a case against the culprits who committed this crime but the hearts of Sikh Sangat will not be at peace until the forces working behind these incidents are exposed.
He said on behalf of SGPC, member S. Surjit Singh, in-charge of Dharam Prachar Committee S. Kartar Singh, pracharaks (preachers) Bhai Balwant Singh, Bhai Sukhwant Singh, Bhai Balkar Singh and head granthi of Gurdwara Satlani Sahib reached the spot and taking immediate action, shifted the desecrated saroop (scripture) of Sri Guru Granth Sahib to Gurdwara Sri Ramsar Sahib.
SGPC President demanded from Punjab’s Chief Minister and Director General of Police to investigate this matter in-depth and bring to fore, the truth of this incident and strict punishments to the culprits.
