Amritsar, August 6: Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee (SGPC) President Advocate Harjinder Singh Dhami expressed deep grief over the demise of prominent Sikh scholar Dr. Saroop Singh Alag.

In his condolences message, Advocate Dhami said that Dr. Saroop Singh Alag was a very active scholar and writer for Sikh Qaum (community), who wrote over 100 books related to Sikh history and Gurmat (teachings of Sikh Gurus) principles.

He said with the demise of Dr. Saroop Singh a good Sikh writer has departed forever and it is an unbearable loss to the Panth. He expressed his condolences to the family of Dr. Saroop Singh while offering his tributes to him.

Meanwhile, Jathedar of Takht Sri Kesgarh Sahib, Giani Raghbir Singh while expressing his condolences on the demise of Dr. Saroop Singh Alag said that his services will be remembered forever.

Jathedar Giani Raghbir Singh said that among the Sikh scholars who contributed to the progress and propagation of Sikh faith, the name of Dr. Saroop Singh Alag was in the forefront and the Sikh Sangat will continue to draw inspiration from his writings. He prayed to Karta Purakh to unite the departed soul at his feet and give strength to the family accepting his will.
