Amritsar, September 7:

Portrait of Bhai Daan Singh, a contemporary Sikh of Guru Gobind Singh, the tenth Guru, was displayed at Central Sikh Museum situated at Sri Darbar Sahib complex in Amritsar on Wednesday.

During the unveiling ceremony, the portrait was unveiled by Giani Rajdeep Singh, Granthi of Sachkhand Sri Harmandar Sahib. Earlier, jatha of hazuri raagi Bhai Bhupinder Singh performed Gurbani Kirtan, and ardas (prayer) was done by Bhai Baljeet Singh.

In his address on this occasion, Giani Rajdeep Singh said that Bhai Daan Singh was a beloved Sikh of Guru Gobind Singh, who sought the blessing of Sikh faith in place of remuneration from the Guru, after the Battle of Sri Muktsar Sahib. He said the tenth Guru being gracious himself blessed Bhai Daan Singh with Amrit (initiated him into the Sikh faith).

Giani Rajdeep Singh appealed to the Sangat to take inspiration from the life of Bhai Daan Singh and he honoured prominent personalities with Siropao (robe of honours) on this occasion.

Present on this occasion included additional manager Iqbal Singh, Sukhmandar Singh, Gurmail Singh, Banta Singh Sarpanch, Jagdev Singh Sarpanch, Sukhjinder Singh, Suba Singh Khalsa, Bikkar Singh, Gurjiwan Singh, and a large number of Sangat.
