Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee (SGPC) President Advocate S. Harjinder Singh has asked Amritsar Municipal Corporation (MC) Commissioner Mr. Sandeep Rishi to remove illegal occupants from the roads leading to Sachkhand Sri Harmandar Sahib, regularise auto-rickshaws near the holy shrine and repair the roads as per the requirement.
Mr. Sandeep Rishi today met S. Harjinder Singh when he visited to pay obeisance at Sachkhand Sri Harmandar Sahib, when SGPC President apprised Amritsar MC Commissioner about the problems faced by the Sangat.
SGPC President said that a large number of Sangat visit to pay obeisance at Sachkhand Sri Harmandar Sahib from across the country and foreign countries but they face many inconveniences due to poor condition of roads leading to this holy shrine. He said these roads are occupied by a large number of illegal occupants and due to irregularisation of auto-rickshaws, the Sangat do not return with a good impression. Therefore, these problems should be resolved so that the Sangat can peacefully pay obeisance at the Guru’s house without any inconvenience.
Meanwhile, Mr. Sandeep Rishi assured SGPC President that he would soon make efforts to find resolution of these problems. He said discussion will be held in this regard in the Amritsar MC meeting and appealed to the shopkeeper to keep their belongings in their limits to ensure smooth functioning of the roads to avoid inconvenience to the Sangat.
On this occasion, SGPC President S. Harjinder Singh honoured Mr. Sandeep Rishi with the Siropao (robe of honour) and a picture of Sri Darbar Sahib.
