Jatha to be sent on occasion of martyrdom day of Guru Arjan Dev Ji and anniversary of Maharaja Ranjit Singh

Amritsar, March 9:

Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee (SGPC) has asked the pilgrims interested to go for the pilgrimage of gurdhams (Sikh shrines) at Pakistan on the occasion of martyrdom day of Guru Arjan Dev Ji and anniversary of Maharaja Ranjit Singh, to deposit their passports.

Both these jathas (groups) will be sent to Pakistan in June 2022 and the process for the same has been initiated as per the instructions of the SGPC President Advocate Harjinder Singh Dhami.

SGPC secretary S. Mohinder Singh Ahli said that the pilgrims can deposit their passports at the office of SGPC at Sri Amristar up to March 25, 2022, who are interested to visit the gurdhams in Pakistan on the occasion of martyrdom day of Guru Arjan Dev Ji and anniversary of Maharaja Ranjit Singh.

“The pilgrims who are interested to join the jatha should deposit their passports along with the recommendation of their area SGPC member and their identity proof document. For the identity proof, a copy of ration card, Aadhar card or voter card can be deposited”, said S. Ahli.

He added that the pilgrims should deposit their passports in time, so that the documents can be sent to the government for completing the due procedure.
