Sangat should take inspiration from life of personalities like Baba Makhan Shah Lobana & Bhai Lakhi Shah Vanjara
Amritsar, August 20: The Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee (SGPC) today organised Gurmat Samagam (religious congregation) at Gurdwara Sri Manji Sahib Diwan Hall in Amritsar, in the memory of Baba Makhan Shah Lobana and Bhai Lakhi Shah Vanjara.
On this occasion, prominent personalities including Jathedar of Sri Akal Takht Sahib Giani Harpreet Singh and Granthi of Sri Harmandar Sahib Giani Rajdeep Singh attended the congregation.
After the bhog (concluding ceremony) of Sri Akhand Path Sahib organised in this regard, hazuri raagis jathas of Sri Harmandar Sahib of Bhai Shaukeen Singh, Bhai Karnail Singh, Bhai Satnam Singh Koharka connected the Sangat with Gurbani Kirtan and Panthak personalities shared their views with the Sangat.
In his address, Jathedar Giani Harpreet Singh said that Baba Makhan Shah Lobana and Bhai Lakhi Shah Vanjara hold important places in Sikh history and the Sikh Qaum (community) will always remain proud of them. He said Baba Makhan Shah Lobana was that philanthropic personality who connected the wandering devotees to the Guru. He said we must walk on the path of Sikh faith taking inspiration from the life of personalities like Baba Makhan Shah and Bhai Lakhi Shah. Jathedar inspired the Sangat to adopt the bani and bana (Gurbani & traditional Sikh attire) while appreciating the SGPC’s initiative of organising congregation to remember these personalities.
On this occasion, S. Baldev Singh, President of Gurdwara Baba Makhan Shah Lobana, New York, thanked the SGPC for organising this congregation. S. Raghbir Singh, Master Mahinder Singh and S. Himmat Singh, who reached here from the USA, also addressed the Sangat.
The stage was managed by preachers of the Dharam Prachar Committee, Bhai Waryam Singh and Bhai Harpreet Singh. During the congregation, management of Gurdwara Baba Makhan Shah Lobana, New York, honoured the Jathedar of Sri Akal Takht Sahib Giani Harpreet Singh and other personalities.
