Amritsar, October 17:  The officials of Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee (SGPC) today held a meeting to discuss preparations regarding centenary congregations dedicated to Shaheedi Saka (martyrdom massacre) Sri Panja Sahib, which are being organised in India and Pakistan.

In India, the congregation will be held at Gurdwara Sri Manji Sahib Diwan Hall, Sri Darbar Sahib in Amritsar on October 26 and 27, while in Pakistan, it will be held at Gurdwara Sri Panja Sahib, Hassan Abdal on October 30.

Regarding the preparations for the centenary congregations to be held in Amritsar, SGPC secretary Partap Singh issued directions in this meeting about the duties assigned to officials and employees by SGPC President Advocate Harjinder Singh Dhami.

SGPC secretary Partap Singh and Dharam Prachar Committee’s additional secretary Balwinder Singh Kahlwan said that the main congregation will be held at Gurdwara Manji Sahib Diwan Hall on October 27, in which high priests and prominent Panthic personalities will address the Sangat. Prominent raagis, dhadis and kathawachaks will attend this congregation. Before this 100 students of Sikh Missionary Colleges will perform Gurbani Kirtan with traditional string instruments on October 26. They said during the centenary congregations, a painting exhibition dedicated to Gurdwara Reform Movement and Shaheedi Saka Panja Sahib.
