Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee (SGPC) today organised a Gurmat Samagam (religious congregation) with devotion at Gurdwara Sri Manji Sahib Diwan Hall, dedicated to martyrdom day of great martyr of Sikh qaum (community), Shaheed Bhai Taru Singh.
After bhog (concluding ceremony) of Sri Akhand Path Sahib, hazuri raagi group of Bhai Sukhpreet Singh of Sachkhand Sri Harmandar Sahib performed the Gurbani Kirtan. The ardas (prayer) was offered by Bhai Baljit Singh and holy hukamnama was recited for the Sangat by Bhai Harmitar Singh, kathawachak (narrator) of Gurdwara Sri Manji Sahib.
During the congregation, Bhai Harmitar Singh connected the Sangat with the life history of Shaheed Bhai Taru Singh. He said the great martyr Bhai Taru Singh’s life is a source of inspiration for us, as followed the path shown by the Gurus and remained committed to the Sikh faith with his hair and breath.
Bhai Harmitar Singh appealed to the Sangat and especially the youth that they should take guidance from the life of Shaheed Bhai Taru Singh and remain firm in their Sikh faith and take blessings of the Guru after getting initiated (take Amrit).
On this occasion different jathas of dhadis (balladeers) and school students shared views about the life history of Shaheed Bhai Taru Singh. A large number of students from different schools also attended the congregation.

Lakhbir Singh, manager Sri Darbar Sahib S. Sulakhan Singh, superintendent S. Malkeet Singh, manager S. Baghel Singh and the Sangat were present.
