Struggle by Sant Fateh Singh for Punjab’s rights is still a source of inspiration: S. Harjinder Singh

The struggle done by Sant Fateh Singh for the rights and interests of Punjab is a source of inspiration for the Sikh Qaum (community), which can lead to meaningful results in solving the current problems facing the Punjab.
This was said by Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee (SGPC) President Advocate S. Harjinder Singh, during a large Gurmat Samagam (religious congregation) organised under Dharam Prachar Lehar (Sikh preaching campaign) with the efforts of SGPC member Bhai Gurcharan Singh dedicated to commemoration of Sant Fateh Singh.
On this occasion, SGPC President announced that the life history and contribution of Sant Fateh Singh will be brought before the Sangat by SGPC by publishing literature, so that Punjab’s young generation could get information about the struggles fought for the issues of Sikhs and Punjab.
“Today, the interests of Punjab are facing many challenges and it is need of the hour to be alert about the same”, said S. Harjinder Singh.
He said that the SGPC is conducting awareness among the Sangat against social evils as well as preaching the Sikh faith and it is the duty of all to face the challenges firmly with unity.
He alerted the Sangat to beware of tactics such as religious conversion and motivated that every Sikh should make efforts to connect the youth with their faith and history, so that anti-Panth forces could be thwarted.
SGPC President announced financial assistance of Rs 1.25 lakh from the SGPC for assistance in installing solar systems at Gurdwara Nanaksar Dholan.
Sharing his views during the Samagam, area SGPC member Bhai Gurcharan Singh thanked S. Harjinder Singh, gurdwara management and the Sangat and also expressed commitment to continue the active Sikh preaching campaign in the constituency. He said religious congregations would be held in every town and by making zones of different villages large Gurmat Samagam and Amrit Sanchar will also be organised.
On this occasion, area MLA S. Manpreet Singh Ayali also shared his views with the Sangat.
Earlier, Granthi Giani Rajdeep Singh, who arrived from Sachkhand Sri Harmandar Sahib, connected the Sangat with Gurmat through Katha and Bhai Sukhjinder Singh’s Jatha performed Gurbani Kirtan. Prominent personalities from the Gurdwara Sahib Parbandhak Committee were honoured. On the occasion, SGPC President S. Harjinder Singh also paid special tributes to Jathedar Maghar Singh and Master Harbans Singh Akhara, contemporaries of Sant Fateh Singh. During this Amrit Sanchar Samagam was also conducted in which kakaars were provided free to the Sangat.

Nirbhai Singh, S. Amrik Singh, S. Raj Singh, S. Mohan Singh, S. Jasminder Singh, president S. Shingara Singh, Baba Daljit Singh, Baba Jashanpreet Singh, S. Avtar Singh, S. Harchand Singh secretary, S. Amarjit Singh, S. Pritam Singh and a large number of Sangat were present.
