Amritsar, May 3: Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee (SGPC) President Advocate S. Harjinder Singh Dhami today honoured jatha (group) of Sikh pilgrims that recently arrived India from Pakistan recently to pay obeisance at Sachkhand Sri Harmandar Sahib. This jatha reached India via Wagha Border on April 22 under the leadership of S. Pritam Singh of Sri Nankana Sahib, which came to Amritsar yesterday after paying obeisance at the Sikh shrines in Delhi and Sri Anandpur Sahib.

Honouring the Sikh jatha from Pakistan on their arrival at the information center of Sri Darbar Sahib, SGPC President Advocate S. Harjinder Singh said it is a matter of great pleasure that majority of Sikhs residing in Pakistan are Sabat Soorat Amritdhari (initiated with unshorn hair).

S. Harjinder Singh said 100 year anniversary centenary of Shaheedi Saka (Martyrdom Massacre) of Sri Panja Sahib is being marked by the Sikh Qaum (nation) on October 30, this year, and efforts will be made to send a large jatha of Sikh pilgrims from India to Pakistan.

On this occasion, the leader of jatha, S. Pritam Singh said 48 Sikh pilgrims have arrived in India on 15-day visa for paying obeisance at the Gurdwara Sahibs and the Sangat is very happy to visit Sri Anandpur Sahib and the Sikh shrines in Delhi. They also thanked the SGPC President S. Harjinder Singh for the honour and invited him to visit Pakistan for paying obeisance at the Sikh shrines there.

Kirpal Singh and others.
