Culprits should be strictly punished after conducting probe: S. Harjinder Singh
Amritsar, July 2: Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee (SGPC) President Advocate S. Harjinder Singh strongly condemning the crime of cutting of Kes (hair) of Sikh youth Rajdeep Singh, lodged in Bhatinda Central Jail demanded strict action against the culprits on Saturday.
S. Harjinder Singh said that the Kes are an integral part of Sikh living and a Sikh loves the Kes more than life.
He said as per the media reports, the jail administration assaulted Sikh youth lodged in Bhatinda jail and his Kes were cut.
“Such an incident that is taking place in Punjab is extremely serious and worrying. I demand from the government to get this matter probed in depth and strict action should be taken against the accused people, so that no official or employee could dare to commit such an immoral act”, said S. Harjinder Singh.
SGPC President said that the SGPC will also investigate this matter at its own level through its preachers and instructions have been given for the same to the secretary of Dharam Prachar Committee. He said whatever facts come to light from the investigation report submitted by the SGPC preachers, further action will be taken accordingly.
