SGPC President holds meeting regarding events with office-bearers, members & officials
Amritsar, April 8: Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee (SGPC) will hold a Gurmat Samagam (religious congregation) with support of the Sangat on April 21, 2022, to mark the closing ceremony of the celebrations started last year on the occasion of 400th Parkash Purb (birth anniversary) of Sri Guru Teg Bahadar Ji, the ninth Sikh Guru.
A meeting was presided over by SGPC President Advocate Harjinder Singh in this regard with the officer-bearers, members and officials at the SGPC office on Friday.
Giving information in this regard, SGPC President said that a special Gurmat Samagam was held dedicated to the 400th Parkash Purb of Sri Guru Teg Bahadar Ji on May 1, 2021 and the entire year was dedicated to the centenary. He added that SGPC will hold a special Gurmat Samagam on the occasion of Parkash Purb of Sri Guru Teg Bahadar Ji on coming April 21, to mark the closing ceremony of the centenary.
SGPC President said Sri Akhand Path Sahib will be started at the Guru’s birthplace Gurdwara Guru Ke Mahal and Gurdwara Sri Manji Sahib Diwan Hall on April 19 and the bhog (concluding ceremony) will be on April 21.
He said after the prayers of Sodar Rehras Sahib (evening prayer) at Gurdwara Guru Ke Mahal, a Kirtan Darbar will be organised there on April 20, which will be attended by the hazuri raagi jathas of Sachkhand Sri Harmandar Sahib and the Granthi Singhs. He said special Gurmat Samagam will be held at Gurdwara Manji Sahib Diwan Hall on April 21, where raagi, dhadi, kavishar groups will connect the Sangat with Gurbani and the history and prominent personalities of the Sikh Panth will attend the congregation.
SGPC President added that during this occasion, the holy sashtars (arms and relics) of Sri Guru Teg Bahadar Ji would be displayed in a special bus for the Sangat to have their glimpse near Gurdwara Manji Sahib. He added that following the prayers of Sodar Rehras Sahib at Sri Harmandar Sahib, fireworks and deepmala (lighting lamps) would be held on April 21. He appealed to the Sangat to attend the congregations to be organised on the occasion of Parkash Purb of Sri Guru Teg Bahadar Ji with their family members in large numbers.
