Amritsar, May 25:

The officials and employees of Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee (SGPC), who retired in the past, were today honoured under the Employees Welfare Scheme Fund.

The retired employees included ex-secretaries S. Sukhdev Singh and S. Mohinder Singh, additional manager S. Darshan Singh, supervisors S. Jassa Singh and S. Jaspal Singh, Gurdwara inspector S. Diwan Singh, driver S. Mahinder Singh, sewadar Bhai Ranjodh Singh and S. Sucha Singh and sanitation worker Sh. Prem Kumar.

At an event organised at the SGPC office, these retired employees were honoured with Siropoa (robe of honour), a photo of Sachkhand Sri Harmandar Sahib, shawl, and Rs 31,000 each from the Employees Welfare Scheme Fund.

Those addressed the gathering on this occasion included SGPC member Bhai Manjit Singh, Bhai Rajinder Singh, additional secretary S. Paramjit Singh, S. Partap Singh, former secretary S. Harbhajan Singh, S. Sukhdev Singh, S. Mohinder Singh, assistant secretary S. Kulwinder Singh, S. Balwinder Singh.

The spokespersons said that the SGPC is a great body of the Sikh Panth and it is a matter of pride for serving in this organisation. They said the new employees should take guidance from the experience of the retired officials.

Those present on this occasion included assistant secretary S. Harjit Singh, S. Gurinder Singh, S. Harjinder Singh, S. Gurmeet Singh, S. Nirvail Singh, S. Sukhbir Singh, manager of Sri Darbar Sahib S. Sulakhan Singh and the family members of the retired officials.
