Amritsar, July 2: Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee (SGPC) today started Sri Akhand Path Sahib at Gurdwara Sri Manji Sahib Diwan Hall, to commemorate attack on Sri Darbar Sahib by the then government on July 4, 1955.
After the bhog (concluding ceremony), Samagam (congregation) will be organised in this regard on July 4.
At the time of starting Sri Akhand Path Sahib, SGPC additional secretary S. Partap Singh said that on the directions of the then government, the police had launched an attack on the Central Sikh shrine on July 4, 1955, and to commemorate the same, a Samagam will be organised at Gurdwara Manji Sahib Diwan Hall on July 4.
He appealed to the Sangat to participate in this Samagam.
