The Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee (SGPC) President Harjinder Singh Dhami has strongly criticized the harassment of Bhai Sandeep Singh, imprisoned in Central Jail Amritsar in the murder case of Sudhir Suri. He said that as per the information, Bhai Sandeep Singh is not being allowed to visit the Gurdwara Sahib and the designated time to come out of his prison. Moreover, medical services are also not being provided to Sandeep Singh.
The SGPC President said that it is very unfortunate that a person had to start a hunger strike to get the facilities in the jail, that are in the rights of a prisoner. He said that on June 22, 2023, the SGPC had also written a letter to the IG Prisons on this matter but no action has been taken.
He said that the demands of Bhai Sandeep Singh should be attended to immediately and the jail administration should not suppress his rights.
