SGPC general secretary holds a meeting with employees of Parikarma
Amritsar, August 18:
In view of the large influx of Sangat (devotees + community) at Sachkhand Sri Harmandir Sahib, while the necessary arrangements are made by the Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee (SGPC), at the same time, the role played by the employees serving in the Parikarma (circumambulation) of Sri Darbar Sahib is equally important.
A special meeting was held today to make Parikarma employees aware of their duty, in which SGPC general secretary Bhai Gurcharan Singh Grewal shared his views.
On this occasion, Bhai Grewal said that every devotee reaches Sachkhand Sri Harmandir Sahib with a sense of reverence and devotion, and it is our primary duty to welcome and respect them. In this process, the Parikarma employees have an important responsibility to play. He said that due to the continuously increasing influx of Sangat at Sachkhand Sri Harmandir Sahib, necessary changes in the arrangements from time to time and improvement in awareness are very important. If for any reason the mind of the devotee is hurt, then it is natural that it will affect the Sikh organization.
He said that although the Parikarma employees are already performing their duties diligently, but discussions and suggestions for better arrangements give good results. He said that during the summer vacations when a large number of Sangat paid obeisance at Sachkhand Sri Harmandir Sahib, the duty performed diligently by the Parikarma employees is commendable and we hope for such services in the future as well. On this occasion, many suggestions were also given by the employees from their experiences while serving in Parikarma.
