Contribute with Rs 4.51 lakh and relief materials

The Sangat of Rajasthan has contributed an amount of Rs 4.51 lakh and large amount of supplies, to the Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee’s flood relief work, to help the affected people. This sewa (voluntary service) has been done by the District Alwar Gurmat Prachar Committee with the support of Sikh Sangat from Alwar and Bharatpur.
Appreciating the relief provided by the SSGPC in the flood-affected areas, Chairman of District Alwar Gurmat Prachar Committee Shalok Singh and Secretary Rajinder Singh said that this foremost organization of Sikhs stands with humanity at every difficult time.
Seeing the services rendered by SGPC, the Sangat of Alwar and Bharatpur districts of Rajasthan decided to support the flood-affected people through the SGPC. In addition to the amount given for the relief work of the SGPC, about 17 tons of supplies are also sent to the needy. As suggested by the SGPC, these supplies were sent directly to the affected areas.
Meanwhile, at the SGPC office, on the occasion of receiving the cheque for the aid amount from the Sangat of Rajasthan, the SGPC General Secretary Bhai Gurcharan Singh Grewal said that the Sikhs have served humanity on a priority basis during natural calamities. At present, during the situation of floods, following the instructions of the SGPC President Harjinder Singh Dhami, from the first day, the SGPC is doing relief work to help the people. He said the Sangat is giving full support to this cause. On behalf of the SGPC President, he thanked Rajasthan Sangat for being a supporter of the SGPC’s relief work. Meanwhile, member of Delhi Sikh Gurdwara Management Committee (DSGMC) Sukhwinder Singh Babbar appreciated the SGPC’s role in the floods and also appealed to the Sangat to give maximum support. The people who arrived on this occasion were also honored by the SGPC with Siropaos (robes of honour).
Present on this occasion included SGPC Secretary Partap Singh, OSD Satbir Singh Dhami, additional secretaries Balwinder Singh Kahlwan, Bijay Singh, manager of Sri Darbar Sahib Bhagwant Singh Dhangera, superintendent Malkeet Singh Beharwal, Prabhjot Singh Gulati, Bhoi Singh, Amarjit Singh, Manmohan Singh, Shalok Singh, Rajinder Singh, Harcharan Singh, Raghujit Singh, Supreet Singh, Harvinder Singh, Jagtar Singh, and Gurnam Singh were present.
