Ex-employees association contribute Rs 51,000, kathawachak Bhai Jaswinder Singh Shahur with Rs 1 lakh

The employees of Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee (SGPC) have decided to contribute with their one day’s salary in the services being provided by the SGPC to help the flood-affected people. The SGPC has also appealed to the Sangat for support by making a bank account public, following which the employees of the SGPC have taken this initiative. Notably, the association of retired SGPC employees today contributed Rs 51,000, while the Sikh kathawachak (discourse narrator), also a retired SGPC employee, Bhai Jaswinder Singh Shahur made a contribution of Rs 1 lakh.
The SGPC President Harjinder Singh Dhami termed the decision taken by the Sikh body employees as in the interest of humanity. He said that standing with humanity in difficult times is part of the path shown by the Sikh Gurus, under which everyone has a duty to help the flood victims.
Meanwhile, Harjinder Singh Dhami held a meeting with all the SGPC employees at the Teja Singh Samari Hall located in the SGPC office and evaluated the relief services being run by the organization and also directed to maintain the continuity of operations to help the affected people. He said that the SGPC is doing more work than the governments and its employees are serving the flood victims without caring for their lives.
On this occasion, SGPC general secretary Bhai Gurcharan Singh Grewal also shared his views with the employees and expressed his satisfaction on the services rendered by the Sikh body. SGPC secretary Partap Singh also expressed with the consent of all the employees that they will contribute one day’s salary to help the flood victims.
Others present on this occasion included OSD Satbir Singh Dhami, additional secretaries Kulwinder Singh Ramdas, Balwinder Singh Kahlwan, Bijay Singh, Gurinder Singh Mathrewal, Gurmeet Singh Buttar, and Simarjit Singh, assistant secretaries. Tejinder Singh Padda, Gurcharan Singh Kuhala, Jaswinder Singh Jassi, Prof Sukhdev Singh, Shahbaz Singh, superintendent Malkeet Singh Beharwal, president of SGPC retired employees’ association Joginder Singh Adliwal, Parvinder Singh Dandi, Inderpal Singh, Surinderpal Singh, Gopal Singh, Mehtab Singh, former head preacher Bhai Jaswinder Singh Shahur and others were present.
