Given the delicate situation, meeting with Bhai Rajoana was very important
Amritsar, December 4:
Stopping Shiromani Akal Dal leaders Bikram Singh Majithia and Virsa Singh Valtoha from meeting Bhai Balwant Singh Rajoana lodged in Central Jail, Patiala who is facing the death sentence, is an autocratic attitude of the Punjab government. Expressing this, the Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee (SGPC) President Harjinder Singh Dhami said that on the one hand, Bhai Balwant Singh Rajoana, who has been in jail for the past 27 years, is forced to go on a hunger strike due to the stubborn attitude of the government, while on the other hand, obstacles are being created before the Sikh community in pacifying him by the Bhagwant Mann government of Punjab.
The SGPC President said that Aam Aadmi Party’s Punjab government is working like a mission against the community’s concern towards Bhai Balwant Singh Rajoana. Accordingly, on the orders of Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann, the leaders of Shiromani Akali Dal were not allowed to meet Bhai Rajoana.
Harjinder Singh Dhami said that such a stubborn attitude of the Punjab government is not good for the state. He said that the meeting of the Shiromani Akali Dal leaders with Bhai Rajoana today was very important because of his announcement to go on the hunger strike from tomorrow i.e. December 5. He said that given the delicate situation, the Punjab government should have given up its stubborn attitude while playing a serious role and allowed this meeting.
