SGPC to preserve prepared paintings in coloured album: S. Harjinder Singh

The Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee (SGPC) will prepare a coloured album of paintings made by artists during the six-day workshop, dedicated to 100 year centenary of Morcha Guru Ka Bagh and Shaheedi Saka (Martyrdom Massacre) Sri Panja Sahib, so that, these paintings depicting Sikh history related to this Morcha and Saka can be preserved, and published for the Sangat.
SGPC President Advocate S. Harjinder Singh said this while honouring artists who made paintings during the painting workshop organised by the Sikh body.
“In future, concrete efforts will be made by SGPC to promote Sikh art and the services of these artists will be taken from time to time. Documentaries will also be produced based on the paintings”, said S. Harjinder Singh.
He said the Sikh history is full of sacrifices, and to inform the same to present and future generations, the modern techniques are very important. The SGPC will make an effort to take these pages of history till the Sangat with the help of the modern technology era.
On this occasion, SGPC President honoured 30 artists who participated in the painting workshop with Siropaos (robes of honour), cheques of Rs 16,000 each, appreciation letter, and mementoes.
Notably, in the painting workshop organised by SGPC under the supervision of S. Harvinder Singh Khalsa, 30 artists belonging to different places participated. The paintings made by these artists depict the scenes of police atrocities during Morcha Guru Ka Bagh, struggles done by Sikh valiant leaders with dedication, personalities that lead during the Saka and the visuals of incidents during Saka Sri Panja Sahib.
SGPC member S. Kulwant Singh Mannan, S. Ranjit Singh Kahlon, S. Harvinder Singh Khalsa, secretary S. Partap Singh, assistant secretary S. Gurmeet Singh, S. Gurcharan Singh, manager S. Sulakhan Singh Bhangali, superintendent S. Malkeet Singh, in-charge S. Shahbaz Singh, S. Harbhajan Singh, and more officials were present.
