SGPC did not give any approval related to film to concerned producers: S. Kulwinder Singh

Amritsar, April 7:

Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee (SGPC) media secretary S. Kulwinder Singh Ramdas strongly objected to the announcement of releasing an animation film on the life of Mata Sahib Kaur – Supreme Motherhood: The Journey of Mata Sahib Kaur on April 14 by Nihal Nihal Nihal (N3) Productions and has asked the producers to stop its release.

S. Ramdas said the representative of  N3 Productions S. Gurbakhsh Singh of Mata Sahib Kaur Education Trust, United Kingdom (UK) had sent the script of the animation film on Mata Sahib Kaur to SGPC and after examining the same, a letter was written to the concerned producers on March 25, 2019, that the Gurus cannot be projected or shown in the form of animation.

He added that the concerned producers wrote letters to SGPC on March 2, 2022, and March 21, 2022, and sent the animation film, which was then watched by the sub-committee formed by SGPC in the presence of representatives of N3 productions on March 26, 2022.

S. Ramdas said that according to the report of the SGPC sub-committee, there are many shortcomings in the said animation film. He said as per the order of Sri Akal Takht Sahib, the Guru Sahiban cannot be projected in film/animation, and historically, there is no order in the film. He said the history of Mata Sundri Ji has been linked with Mata Sahib Kaur Ji and there are historical and theoretical mistakes in the film.

S. Ramdas said the SGPC did not give any approval to the concerned animation film and due to major shortcomings in the film, it would be against the sentiments of Sikh Sangat, therefore, the announced release of the film should be stopped immediately.
