SGPC President orders to conduct probe

Amritsar, May 2:

Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee (SGPC) has taken strict notice of a Chandigarh-based incense stick company ‘Dev Darshan’ for publishing Gutka Sahib (hand) of Japuji Sahib in Hindi language and printing advertisement of its company the same. After the matter came to light, SGPC President S. Harjinder Singh Dhami ordered to send a team for conducting a probe from the religious investigation department of SGPC’s Dharam Prachar Committee (DPC). S. Harjinder Singh said that it cannot be tolerated that someone uses Gurbani for commercial interests. He said action will be taken against the concerned company on the basis of the report of the probe.

SGPC’s assistant secretary media S. Kulwinder Singh gave information that a person brought this matter to the notice of SGPC and taking cognizance of the same, SGPC President has ordered to conduct a probe. He said this firm based in Chandigarh, makes incense sticks under the name of ‘Dev Darshan’. This company got prepared a Gutka Sahib of Japuji Sahib in the Hindi language and it is advertising its company on the same.

“As per the received information, the company is sending Gutka Sahib after packing them in boxes of incense sticks. This matter is extremely serious, which has hurt the sentiments of Sikh Sangat and at the same time, it is also disrespect of the holy Gurbani”, said S. Kulwinder Singh.

He said keeping the seriousness of the issue in mind, SGPC President has ordered a probe and action will be taken on the basis of the report.
