Amritsar, January 6:

Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee (SGPC) has extended the date of depositing passports for the jatha of pilgrims going to Gurdwara Sri Panja Sahib (Pakistan) on the occasion of Khalsa Sajna Diwas (Vaisakhi).

In a press statement issued from the office on Thursday, SGPC secretary S. Mohinder Singh Ahli said that like every year, SGPC is sending a jatha of pilgrims to Gurdwara Sri Panja Sahib and other Sikh shrines in the month of April on the occasion of Khalsa Sajna Diwas (Vaisakhi).

“For joining this jatha, the pilgrims can deposit their passports at the Yatra Department at SGPC’s headquarters in Sri Amritsar by January 20, 2022. Earlier, SGPC had asked the pilgrims to deposit their passports by December 31, 2021 and now, according to the sentiments of the Sangat, the date has been extended”, said S. Mohinder Singh Ahli.

He said that the interested pilgrims can deposit their passports along with recommendation of their area SGPC member and copies of their identity proof either voter or Aadhaar card.
