Amritsar, March 13: Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee (SGPC) President Advocate Harjinder Singh Dhami inspired the Sangat to live life according to the teachings of Gurbani while congratulating on the occasion of new year Nanakshahi Sammat 554.
He said as per the birth year of Sri Guru Nanak Dev Ji, Nanakshahi Sammat 554 has started and as per the Sikh tradition, the new year starts on Chet 1st. He prayed that the Guru bless the Sangat across the world with peace and harmony.
SGPC President said that the Sikh traditions and Gurmat ideology lead to every aspect of human life.
“By implementing the teachings of Gurbani, the human problems are easily resolved”, said Advocate Dhami.
He said SGPC organises a special Gurmat Samagam (religious congregation) at Gurdwara Sri Manji Sahib Diwan Hall on the occasion of this new year and a large number of Sangat (pilgrims) express their devotion by paying obeisance at Sri Harmandar Sahib.
On the occasion of the new year, Advocate Dhami appealed to the young generation to take inspiration from their heritage and adopt Bani and Bana (Gurbani and traditional Sikh attire).
