Under influence of Delhi people, Punjab government is snatching rights of Punjabis: Harjinder Singh Dhami

Amritsar, January 24:

Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee (SGPC) President Harjinder Singh Dhami has strongly condemned the Punjab government’s neglect of Punjabi from the syllabus of the examination to be conducted for the recruitment process of clerk post through the Subordinate Service Selection Board (SSSB), Punjab. He said that the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP)-led government of Punjab is on the path of destroying the state’s mother tongue, heritage and culture.

“This is an action affecting the youth of Punjab, which has also opened the way for the recruitment of non-Punjabis, thus snatching the rights of Punjabis”, said Harjinder Singh Dhami.

SGPC President said that Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann is only tricking the public by talking about implementing Punjabi at all levels, while the reality is that by ignoring the Punjabi language, the present Punjab government led by him is doing every official work in English.

“The example of this practice are several orders issued by Bhagwant Singh Mann in the past. Whenever they issue any announcement, official order or circular, it is issued in English language. Punjabi language is being deliberately neglected by the Punjab government under the influence of Delhi people”, said Harjinder Singh Dhami.

He said that the SSSB, Punjab’s action to exclude Punjabi from the syllabus of the main paper for the recruitment of clerk post is an expression of AAP government’s real intention towards Punjab, from which Bhagwant Singh Mann cannot run away.

SGPC President appealed to the Punjabis that it is the need of the hour to recognize the fatal conspiracies against Punjab and Punjabi language being hatched by the government and every Punjabi should stand against it. He said that the Sikh body, SGPC will continue to oppose every action that denigrates the Punjabi mother-tongue.
