Amritsar, April 19:

Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee (SGPC) President Advocate S. Harjinder Singh termed the injustice and excesses on the minority Sikhs in Pakistan as unfortunate. He said as per the media reports published today, Pakistan’s first Sikh police officer S. Gulab Singh Shaheen’s disappearance by an intelligence agency is an act of repression on minorities.

Advocate S. Harjinder Singh said that in the past too, there have been reports of injustice and excesses on minority Sikhs in Pakistan, which made it clear that Sikhs there are insecure.

“This phenomenon is not right and the government of any country is responsible for the safety of the people of all the communities. The matter of disappearance of S. Gulab Singh Shaheen to an undisclosed location is a matter of fear among the Sikhs in Pakistan and the Pakistan government should immediately clarify about his whereabouts”, said Advocate S. Harjinder Singh.

The SGPC President said that if this news is true then nothing can be more unfortunate than the same.
