All national parties working together to break SGPC: Sukhbir Singh Badal

Amritsar, October 7:  Three Panthic Ros March organised by Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee (SGPC) that started from Takht Sri Kesgarh Sahib Anandpur Sahib, Takht Sri Damdama Sahib Talwandi Sabo and Gurdwara Manji Sahib Ambala concluded at Akal Takht Sahib in Amritsar on Friday evening.

These protest marches were carried out to intensify the protest against recognition to Haryana Sikh Gurdwara (Management) Act, 2014 by the Supreme Court opposite the spirit of the Sikh Gurdwaras Act, 1925, which was brought into existence by the Sikh community after great sacrifices more than a century ago and the conspiracies to break foremost Sikh body SGPC.

Upon reaching Akal Takht Sahib, Ardas (prayer) was offered for the Chardi Kala (rising spirit) of SGPC and success of the struggle, which was performed by head granthi Giani Malkeet Singh.

Earlier, when the protest marches reached Golden Gate after passing through different districts, the present Sangat expressed their protest with victory Sikh slogans. All three protest marches included a convoy of hundreds of vehicles including cars and buses, in which hundreds of Sikhs supporting SGPC were present. In this protest organised by the SGPC, apart from SGPC officials, employees, senior leaders of Shiromani Akali Dal were also present.

From Takht Sri Kesgarh Sahib, the protest march was led by SGPC President Advocate Harjinder Singh Dhami, while the one which started at Takht Sri Damdama Sahib was led by Shiromani Akali Dal President Sukhbir Singh Badal. The protest march from Haryana’s Ambala was led by SGPC senior vice-president Raghujit Singh Virk and SGPC members and Sikhs were present in it.

In Amritsar, SGPC President Advocate Harjinder Singh Dhami said that there is a huge protest in Sikh community against anti-Sikh forces and governments attempting to weaken SGPC, which was seen during the marches today. He said that these protest marches from different places became bigger step by step and received a warm welcome in each constituency.

“The SGPC has carried out these Panthic Ros Marches under the starting outline of this struggle, while in the future this agitation will be intensified so that the Panthic voice can reach the ears of the governments”, said Advocate Dhami.

SGPC President said that the SGPC, the representative body of Sikhs, is being deliberately targeted by the anti-Sikh forces, which will not be tolerated. He said that the Sikh Panth has always fought and made sacrifices for the country and the community also has a history that whenever anyone challenged it, it mobilized and gave a befitting answer.

Advocate Dhami said in clear words that the governments are directly interfering to break SGPC, against which the Sikh Panth will continue to raise its voice on every level. He thanked Shiromani Akali Dal President Sukhbir Singh Badal and Panthic personalities, organisations and Sangat for participating in the protest marches of SGPC.

Meanwhile, Sukhbir Singh Badal said that Ardas has been offered at Akal Takht Sahib to get strength for the struggle against the enemies of the Sikh community and the Guru will surely grant success. He said that the anti-Sikh forces have launched a major attack to break the Sikh body SGPC, but the Khalsa Panth will continue to oppose with unity.

Sukhbir Singh Badal said that SGPC is the Sikh organization established before the independence of the country, which laid the foundation of the struggle for the country’s freedom.

“But today the governments of the country are targeting SGPC”, said Badal.

He said SGPC not only manages the management of Gurdwara Sahibs but also takes the lead in the welfare of humanity during every calamity in the country.

He said that the activities and achievements of this representative Sikh organization are not being digested by the anti-Sikh forces and governments, so all of them are planning to break the Sikh Panth’s strength.

“Along with the Congress, enemies of the Sikhs, Bharatiya Janata Party and Aam Aadmi Party are also involved in the conspiracy of attempting to break SGPC. I appeal to the Sikh Panth to mobilize and raise a united voice against the forces that hurt their institutions, traditions, history, traditions and principles, so that they can be prevented from interfering in Sikh affairs”, said Sukhbir Singh Badal.

He said that the Shiromani Akali Dal will support the struggle of SGPC at all levels and will also mobilize people at the village level.
