Amritsar, January 16: Following a legal notice from the Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee (SGPC), social media platform X (Twitter) has suspended a fake/parody handle @SGPCAmritsar_ operating in the name of Sikh organization SGPC, said SGPC assistant secretary and spokesperson Harjabhan Singh Vakta on Tuesday. He said that through this parody account created in the name of SGPC, hatred was being spread on X (Twitter) against the Sikh organization and the Sikh community. He said that after the legal notice sent through SGPC Legal Advisor Advocate Amanbir Singh Siali, an email was received yesterday from X regarding the suspension of this fake/parody account.
The SGPC spokesman said that although the fake/parody account in the name of SGPC has been suspended by X (Twitter), the action will continue to find out the mischievous elements operating it. In this regard, according to the directives of SGPC President Harjinder Singh Dhami, Legal Adviser Advocate Amanbir Singh Siali will take further action.
