Amritsar, May 9:

Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee (SGPC) President Advocate S. Harjinder Singh has appealed to all the Panthak jathebandis (organisations) and parties to attend the meeting called on May 11 to discuss and strategise the release of Sikh prisoners. Following the orders of Sri Akal Takht Sahib, SGPC has called this Panthak meeting at Teja Singh Samundri Hall.

In a statement released here on Monday, S. Harjinder Singh has invited all the Panthak parties to attend this meeting to present their valuable suggestions and views. He said during the gathering of five Jathedars on May 3, the Jathedar of Sri Akal Takht Sahib Giani Harpreet Singh had ordered joint efforts for the release of Sikh prisoners and this important meeting is called in this context.

“The suggestions and views of religious, political and social jathebandis of the Panth are much needed so that the future strategy for the release of Sikh prisoners can be mapped out”, said S. Harjinder Singh.

SGPC President said this gathering would represent the entire Khalsa Panth and it is everyone’s duty to contribute to the same.

S. Harjinder Singh said that although the invitations are being sent by the SGPC for this meeting, those who could not be reached due to lack of time should also come to attend this meeting. He said the SGPC has extended an open invitation to all.

“This is a very important issue of the entire Panth, for which the entire Qaum (community) had been working for a long time. It is imperative that all the Panthak parties and jathebandis come together for a joint Panthak effort to be launched as per the direction of Sri Akal Takht Sahib”, said S. Harjinder Singh.

Notably, the Panthak meeting convened by the SGPC would start at 11 am on May 11.
