Chhabeels of cold sweet water organised at Sachkhand Sri Harmandar Sahib & Gurdwara Ramsar Sahib

Amritsar, June 3:

Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee (SGPC) commemorated the Shaheedi Diharha (martyrdom day) of Sri Guru Arjan Dev Ji, the fifth Sikh Guru (master) with devotion at Gurdwara Sri Ramsar Sahib.

Bhog (concluding ceremony) of Sri Akhand Path Sahib was held on this occasion and hazuri raagi jatha of Bhai Nirmal Singh of Gurdwara Shaheed Ganj Baba Deep Singh connected the Sangat with divine Gurbani Kirtan.

After the bhog of Sri Akhand Path Sahib, additional head granthi of Sachkhand Sri Harmandar Sahib Giani Jagtar Singh Ludhiana did katha (narration) of history related to martyrdom of Sri Guru Arjan Dev Ji.

He appealed to the Sangat to adopt bani and bana (Gurbani and traditional Sikh attire) while motivating to take inspiration from the life of the Guru. In the decorated Gurmat Samagam (religious congregation) granthi Giani Amarjit Singh of Sachkhand Sri Harmandar Sahib also did the katha and hazuri raagi jathas connected the Sangat with Gurbani.

The dhadis, kavishars and pracharaks connected the Sangat with the Guru’s history and the poets presented the poetry related to the Guru.

On the occasion of martyrdom day of Sri Guru Arjan Dev Ji, the Sangat paid obeisance with devotion at Sachkhand Sri Harmandar Sahib and Gurdwara Sri Ramsar Sahib and meanwhile, chhabeels of cold and sweet water were also organised for the Sangat at both these Sikh shrines.

Those present on this occasion included SGPC member Bhai Manjit Singh, manager of Sri Darbar Sahib S. Sulakhan Singh, manager S. Sukhraj Singh, pracharak Bhai Dilbagh Singh, Bhai Harpreet Singh and a large number of Sangat.
