Shaheed Sikh Missionary College, established in memory of martyrs of Saka Nankana Sahib contributes greatly for Sikh Qaum: Advocate Dhami

Amritsar, February 28:

To commemorate the martyrs of Saka (massacre) Nankana Sahib that took place in 1921, the Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee (SGPC) organised a Gurmat Samagam (religious congregation) at Shaheed Sikh Missionary College at Sri Amritsar today.

Situated in the Putlighar area of Amritsar, many personalities put light on the history related to Saka Nankana Sahib at the religious congregation organised at Shaheed Sikh Missionary College.

Speaking on this occasion, SGPC President Harjinder Singh Dhami said that the Sikh history is full of martyrs who followed the ideology and principles laid down by the Gurus.

He said Shaheed Sikh Missionary College established in the memory of the martyrs of Saka Nankana Sahib has contributed greatly to Sikh Quam (community).

“This college has given many scholars and prominent raagis famous in the Panth, who have made a great contribution in the propagation of the Sikh faith”, said Advocate Dhami.

While paying homage to the martyrs of Saka Nankana Sahib, SGPC President appealed to take inspiration from these pages of Sikh history. During the event, SGPC President was honoured with Siropao (robe of honour) and memento by the staff of Shaheed Sikh Missionary College.

On this occasion, Bhai Jagjit Singh Thikriwal was honoured with Principal Ganga Singh Award, while the prominent personalities who attended the event were honoured with Siropaos. Earlier, the college students and prominent raagis jathas connected the Sangat with Gurbani Kirtan. Principal Manjeet Kaur thanked the prominent personalities and Sangat, who attended the event.
