World-renowned personalities & organisations of Sikhs are being targeted systematically: Advocate Dhami

Amritsar, September 6: Giving his reaction to hateful comments on social media against Sikh player Arshdeep Singh of the Indian cricket team, Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee (SGPC) President Advocate Harjinder Singh Dhami said that this phenomenon is extremely dangerous for the whole world, and if a common opinion is not formed globally to strictly stop such mischievous acts of destroying the character of the follower of the faith, it is natural that there will be cracks among the humanity in near future.

He said the United Nations Organization should intervene against this hateful phenomenon that destroys human values and should set strict rules against such anti-human tones.

SGPC President Harjinder Singh Dhami said that Arshdeep Singh has been deliberately made a target of hatred while his performance was much better than others. He said that sports are an important medium for promoting brotherhood and if the targeting of sportsmen continued under hateful thinking, then there will be a dispassionate atmosphere in this field.

Dhami said that deliberate belittling of the performance of Arshdeep Singh and spreading false propaganda against him is a part of the process of targeting the achievements of Sikhs for the country and at the world level.

“There is no doubt now that mischievous elements are systematically targeting the world-famous personalities and organisations of Sikhs, but it is also true that these people will never succeed in stopping the Sikhs who follow the teachings of the Gurus, from moving forwards”, said Harjinder Singh Dhami.

SGPC President said that such anti-humanity people should read the history and know about how the Sikhs have made the name of the country shine in every field and made great achievements at the world level too.

SGPC President specifically appealed to Prime Minister of the country Narendra Modi to review the environment being created against the Sikhs to catch the root of this conspiracy and give exemplary punishment by identifying people who are committed such mischievous acts.
